Ammolite is an organic gemstone derived from ammonite fossils. Like abalone shells or oyster shells, it contains aragonite, the main component of nacre.

Ammolite is rare; its main deposits are located in Canada and the United States.

In Canada, ammolite was used by the Blackfoot tribe in sacred rites before bison hunts, as well as for therapeutic purposes.

Ammolite is a stone of grounding, stability, and balance. It encourages you to stay grounded in reality. It promotes mental clarity and focus. It’s highly valued by yoga and meditation practitioners. It soothes the mind, encourages inner calm, and dispels anxiety.

Ammolite is also an energizing stone: it helps fight fatigue and regain your energy. It transforms negative energy into positive energy.

For Feng Shui masters, it’s “the seven-color prosperity stone.” It stimulates “qi,” the vital force, throughout the body. They recommend placing an ammolite in the home to attract happiness and good health; and an ammolite in business premises to attract wealth.

Purification and recharging:

Cleansing:

As ammolite is extremely fragile, we recommend cleansing it by smoke cleansing with a palo santo stick or white sage. Burn the palo santo or sage and pass your jewelry over the smoke. Don’t forget to ventilate the room well after smoke cleansing.

Recharging:

Ammolite can be recharged by placing it in an amethyst geode, a clear quartz geode or on a quartz cluster (druse).
