Amber is a fossil resin used for millennia. In many cultures, it is traditionally used as an anti-inflammatory to soothe babies’ teething flare-ups, back pain and rheumatism.

In the East, amber is used to make sacred prayer beads. Monks use them during meditation sessions to reach a state of clairvoyance.

In traditional Chinese medicine, amber (Hu Po) is used to calm the nerves, reduce anxiety, and fight insomnia.

Purification and recharging:

Cleansing:

As amber does not retain negative energies, it doesn’t need cleansing. However, if you wish, you can briefly run it under water or rub it with a damp cloth.

To preserve the jewelry setting, we recommend smudging with a palo santo stick or white sage. Burn the palo santo or sage and pass your jewelry over the smoke. Don’t forget to air out the room well after smudging.

Recharging:

Amber can be recharged in sunlight by placing it for a few hours in a light-filled room. It’s best to avoid direct exposure to high heat, which could damage the organic stone.

Amber can also be placed in a quartz geode or on a quartz cluster.
