🌟 General description

The Platonic solids are the five perfect geometric shapes found in nature: tetrahedron, hexahedron (cube), octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron.
Each of these polyhedra is made up of identical faces, equal angles and symmetrical edges, representing balance, harmony and universal order.

Used since Antiquity in sacred geometry, metaphysics and meditation, these solids are considered the fundamental building blocks of creation.
In natural crystal, they act as energy amplifiers, restoring balance to the body, mind and environment.

📜 An ancient legacy: the history of the Platonic solids

The Platonic solids owe their name to the famous Greek philosopher Plato (428–348 BC), who described them in his work Timaeus. He associated each shape with one of the five fundamental elements of creation: fire, earth, air, water and ether.

But their history is even older. Similar shapes have been found at Neolithic archaeological sites in Scotland, dating back more than 4,000 years before our era, long before Plato. These geometric objects carved in stone bear witness to ancient civilizations’ fascination with perfect proportions and universal harmony.

In Antiquity, these figures were considered the models of the structure of the universe. Egyptians, Greeks, Mayans and Mesopotamian civilizations saw in them a sacred geometry—a mathematical language through which nature expresses perfection: from crystals to shells, from flowers to galaxies.

Purification and recharging

Purification:

Rock crystal can be cleansed by running it under water for a few minutes. You can also cleanse it by smudging with a stick of palo santo or with white sage. Burn the palo santo or sage and pass the crystal through the smoke. Remember to ventilate the room well after smudging.

Recharging:

Rock crystal can be recharged by placing it in the sun for a few hours.

If the crystal is small, it can also be placed in an amethyst geode or on a selenite plate.
