Howlite is often artificially dyed to imitate turquoise.

Like amethyst, howlite gives off a soothing energy. It’s a stone of stability. Placed in your bedroom, it helps fight insomnia.

Howlite strengthens patience and willpower, and helps regulate emotions, especially by reducing outbursts of anger. It’s also widely used for meditation. It dissolves blockages resulting from life’s difficulties and invites us to explore our spiritual dimension.

Cleansing and recharging:

Cleansing:

Howlite can be cleansed by holding it under running water for a few minutes. You can also cleanse it by smudging with a palo santo stick or with white sage. Burn the palo santo or sage and pass the stone over the smoke released. Don’t forget to air out the room well after smudging.

Recharging:

Howlite can be recharged by placing it in the sun for one hour. It can also be placed in a quartz geode, on a quartz cluster or an amethyst druse.
