Larimar is a rare stone. There is only one deposit in the world located in the Dominican Republic. It was discovered in 1974 by Miguel Mendez. In tribute to his daughter Larissa and to recall the color of the Caribbean sea (mar), he named it Larimar.

Larimar radiates a soothing energy. It helps dispel anger, stress, and negative thoughts. Larimar promotes letting go and reconciliation with your inner self.

The stone is popular with artists; it stimulates creativity, imagination, and free expression.

Larimar is often used to rebalance energies and open the throat chakra to develop harmonious communication.

Cleansing:

Larimar can be purified by placing it under running water for a few minutes. However, to preserve the jewelry setting, we recommend fumigation with a palo santo stick or white sage. Burn the palo santo or sage and pass your jewelry over the smoke. Don’t forget to ventilate the room well after fumigating.

Recharging:

Larimar can be recharged by placing it in moonlight for a few hours. It can also be placed in a quartz geode, on a quartz cluster, or an amethyst druse.
