Sericho pallasite is a spectacular meteorite composed of a iron-nickel matrix interspersed with translucent olivine crystals, with golden or greenish reflections.
It belongs to the rare family of pallasites, meteorites originating from the transition zone between the core and mantle of an asteroid. This exceptional blend of metal and silicate bears witness to a cataclysmic event that occurred over 4.5 billion years ago, during the formation of the solar system.

The discovery of the Sericho pallasite dates back to 2016, in northeastern Kenya, near the village of Sericho. Local villagers reportedly noticed heavy metallic stones scattered across the savannah — unaware that they were part of a meteorite shower. Scientific analysis later confirmed it was a previously unknown pallasite.
This dispersion field (or strewn field) extends over 45 kilometers, and several tons of fragments have been found there since.
