Lepidolite belongs to the mica family. Its color varies from pale pink to mauve. Deposits are found in granites and granitic pegmatites. These pegmatites are known for their significant concentrations of rare minerals, including lithium-containing minerals. Since the mid-20th century, lepidolite has become one of the main sources of Lithium. Its main deposits are in the United States, Russia, Brazil, and Canada.

Its name comes from the Greek “lepis” (scale) and “lithos” (stone).

Lepidolite symbolizes peace, serenity, and emotional well-being. It works on energy and the balance of yin and yang. It activates the heart, throat, and third eye chakras. It is used to facilitate shamanic journeys or spiritual journeys.

In lithotherapy, it is believed to help combat insomnia and nightmares. It is also known to absorb electromagnetic waves.

Lepidolite is also used to help alleviate stress and anxiety. It is believed to help ward off negative thoughts and emotions.

Purification and recharging

Cleansing:

Lepidolite can be purified by fumigation with a palo santo stick or with white sage. Burn the palo santo or sage and pass your jewelry/stone over the smoke produced. Remember to ventilate the room well after fumigation. As the stone is fragile, we do not recommend cleaning with water.

Recharging:

Lepidolite can be recharged by placing it in the sun for 10 minutes. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. You can also recharge it by exposing it to moonlight overnight.

It can be placed in a quartz geode, on a quartz cluster or an amethyst druse.
